The Note Book, Volume 1

The Note Book, Volume 1 is a book of sixty handwritten notes collected off the ground of Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2017. It is a survey of some of the unique things that get lost in our public spaces. These notes tell a story of the strangers that pass us by; where they are from, where they are going, why. They are only temporarily important to their original owner, but once lost, they take on a new meaning of their own. This book is just the beginning of an ongoing project to collect and document these artefacts of one another.

Bronwyn Mundell is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus in textiles, mapping, and documentary photography with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Her work is currently based around found and most often discarded objects as valuable evidence of our daily existence and using standards of importance to alter our impressions of them.
